Fat Pad Restoration Q & A

What is fat pad restoration?

Fat pad restoration describes a procedure to reconstruct damaged or atrophied tissue on the bottom of your feet and restores its natural cushioning.

The team at Tri-Town Podiatry uses the Leneva® Allograft system fat pad restoration system to restore fat pad cushioning. This treatment uses injections of sterile human fat to reconstruct damaged tissue. The fat injections provide a foundation for your own body to regenerate new cells to create new fat pads in the bottom of your feet.

The Leneva system ensures the safety of the injectable fat and the preservation of important endogenous components, including matrix proteins and growth factors, that support healthy tissue growth.

Why would I need fat pad restoration?

Fat pad restoration can benefit your long-term foot health if you have discomfort or pain due to a breakdown of the fat pads on the bottom of your feet. This breakdown of fat can occur because of uneven wear or age-related changes in your feet.,

You can schedule a consultation if you’re experiencing symptoms of fat pad atrophy, such as:

  • Corns
  • Calluses
  • Pressure sores
  • Pain that feels like stones are in your shoe
  • Burning sensations in the ball of your foot

The team at Tri-Town Podiatry offers in-office foot evaluations to determine if fat pad restoration is right for you.

What can I expect during fat pad restoration?

During your fat pad restoration procedure, the Tri-Town Podiatry team follows a customized treatment plan to inject the sterile adipose fat into the bottom of your foot.

The side effects of Leneva injections are mild and might include redness, discomfort, and bruising in the injection sites. It’s also common to develop small bumps under your skin immediately after your injections.

You can expect to see results of fat pad restoration gradually over time. This is because it takes several weeks for your body to rebuild the fat pads in your feet. Once you achieve optimal results, they last for up to two years.

The team at Tri-Town Podiatry can provide maintenance treatments using Leneva to help you maintain your foot health and mobility.
